Managing Principal, Rittenhouse Political Partners | September 2016 – present As managing principal, I have the opportunity to work as both a manager and a practitioner, and to help ensure that our firm, team and clients are meeting ambitious goals. Here, I manage and support a team of 10 members, oversee the firm's business operations including human resources, and accounting, and execute external communications. Working collaboratively with principals, we work to develop new business. And, I work directly with several of our firm's clients to help them meet their political and campaign fundraising goals.
State Director (Pennsylvania), Enroll America | September 2014 – August 2016 I am proud to have served as the leader of a statewide field, communications and coalition-based campaign to connect uninsured Pennsylvanians with health coverage, which was one of Enroll America’s top performing statewide programs. During my tenure, we forged successful relationships with partners ranging from stakeholders, community organizations, assister organizations and federal, state, county and municipal governments. We built pioneering partnerships to execute innovative strategies to connect the uninsured with coverage. And, we developed successful relationships with funders including philanthropies, providers and insurers. I led a statewide team of between 5-12 members based in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, and served as the spokesperson and chief communicator for the organization, including significant on-the-record and on-camera experience.
Political Director / Senior Finance Advisor, Pennsylvania for Allyson | April 2013 – August 2014 I was a senior staff member, strategic advisor and chief traveling staffer for Allyson Schwartz in her primary campaign for Governor of Pennsylvania. With candidate and initial team, we hired staff and built infrastructure for a competitive statewide primary campaign with a final budget of $9.3M. I built and managed a 50-member finance committee with revenue in excess of $1M, provided strategic advice to all departments and staff, and led political outreach and managed key relationships with leaders statewide.
Political Director, Allyson Schwartz for Congress | November 2010 – April 2013 Finance Director, Allyson Schwartz for Congress | March 2009 - November 2010 I managed all political, fundraising and campaign operations for a member of Congress and party leader in a competitive environment, including four staff and ten interns. Our team raised over $12 million for re-election campaign, leadership political committee, party organizations and candidates during tenure. I also built and strengthen relationships with and served as liaison to local, regional and national political and party leaders and organizations, and worked with our staff and consultants to execute an aggressive digital and media communications strategy.
